Faith & Literature Week Two
This Sunday in the summer Faith & Literature class, Charles Tyrone will lead a discussion of a selection from Clyde Edgerton's novel Raney. Join us in the large classroom starting at 9:00 am on Sunday, July 19 for the second week in our Faith & Literature summer Sunday school series.
Raney, a conservative Free Will Baptist, already challenged by her dad Charles's new and strange anti-nuclear activism, agrees to accompany her mother-in-law, Millie, to an Episcopal Church service, which also is a strange and different way to do church. Also included from Susan Ketchen's The Christ-Haunted Landscape: Faith and Doubt in Southern Fiction, is her interview with Clyde Edgerton.
Be sure to complete the assigned reading ahead of the class in order to prepare for the discussion! Hard copies can be found in Shoemaker Hall or can be collected during Stitch Cafe on Wednesday.
