Hunger in Arkansas: Urgent Help Needed

A recent survey from Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance has revealed that over 1/3 of Arkansas residents faced food insecurity in 2025, and it is growing worse by the day.

Here at All Saints', our food ministry has seen more food insecure neighbors this summer than even at our peak demand in Covid. Last Saturday, we served 122 hot meals and 54 families in our food pantry. Our Central Presbyterian partners are also seeing overwhelming demand at their food pantry. This is a very real and urgent area of need.

Neighbors Table, our Central Presbyterian partners, and our Arkansas River Valley Cherokee Church friends' ability to help are challenged. There are many other food ministries in Russellville feeding our hungry neighbors and their children that are also in need of additional support (for a listing, visit the Russ Bus).

One immediate and urgent need is at the Arkansas River Valley Cherokee Pantry. Their refrigerated truck’s reefer is currently inoperable. They have had to turn away pallets of frozen and refrigerated food this week, significantly reducing their available resources. If you are able, please consider helping them out.

Typically these organizations can do more with direct financial assistance than other forms of support and can stretch a dollar further than donors can, but all donations can make a difference! If you are able to give at all please consider doing so, this is an ongoing and urgent need in our community.
